The province of Fars is the largest producer of dried figs in Iran. The towns of Estahban and Neyriz play a particularly important role in production. In Estahban, the harvest has started earlier than usual this year. The acreage is 24,000 ha and market players reckon that about 10,500 mt of figs can be harvested.
